Mary Desmond is an accomplished singer, songwriter, musician, performer, and actress from Southern California. She has been performing her whole life and is set to graduate with her degree in commercial music in Spring of 2021. At age 4, she had her first big opportunity singing “Love Letters in the Sand” with Pat Boone, as well as making an appearance on Larry King Live singing “God Bless America.” At age 5, she appeared in her first commercial for Disney Fantasy Princess, as well as playing extras in several films including “Yours, Mine, and Ours.” At 7 years old she began auditioning for local theater and landed the role of Annie, followed by roles in the Regional Theatre for Evita and Brigadoon, as well as Irving Berlin’s White Christmas. She was then casted as a part of the National Broadway Tour of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. At age 10, she auditioned for Legoland California where she was casted and continued to perform in shows for over four years. During this time, she also performed in over 85 live performances with her band Fusion Beat, at locations including House of Blues, Disney California Adventure Resort, and Del Mar Fair.
In high school, Mary landed lead roles such as Elle in Legally Blonde, Charity in Sweet Charity, Dorothy in Thoroughly Modern Millie, as well as many other productions, where she went on to receive several nominations and awards from organizations such as JRays, Cappies, and Macys. During this time, she also focused on her individual music career by traveling the world to places such as England to perform her music and launching her Youtube, as well as other social media platforms. Mary has posted hundreds of videos to her Youtube channel with her widely loved covers, as well as original songs. Additionally, Mary auditioned for Season 15 of American Idol and made it to Hollywood Week.
During her college years, Mary has dedicated her time to her education, as well as maintaining her music career. She has continued to post to Youtube, livestream on several platforms, and exercise her entrepreneurial skills through her small businesses. Mary continues to write and record music, as well as film music videos. She has also been able to continue performing live throughout college, at many different events. This includes her involvement with the National Youth Gathering in 2019 where she was a member of the House Worship Band for an audience of over 22,000.
Mary recently released a worship EP in October 2020, with an original song “Willow Tree.” Mary has been working hard and is excited to be releasing more original music in 2021.
